FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS FOR 2012
There is still time.
You still have the opportunity to save money on your health care expenses thanks to a Flexible Spending Account (FSA). FSAs allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for certain out-of-pocket health care and dependent care expenses. This lowers the amount of income tax you will pay and helps you save money.
Open Enrollment is over but an FSA is still an option!
Even though Open Enrollment is over, you still have time to enroll in an FSA. Remember, Flexible Spending Account enrollments don't carry over from year to year and you need to re-enroll each year if you want to participate.
Enroll by December 2, 2011 to have your 2012 Health Care FSA funds available on January 1, 2012.
Enroll by December 31, 2011 to have your 2012 Health Care FSA funds available on February 1, 2012. You can incur eligible expenses in January, but you won't be able to use your PayFlex debit card or file claims until February.
Note: The fund availability dates apply to 2012 Health Care FSA claims. To receive a reimbursement from a 2012 Dependent Care FSA, you must accumulate sufficient contributions to cover the claim being made.
Here's what to do:
Simply download and complete the 2012 FSA Deduction Authorization Form and return it to the HRRIS Benefits Transaction Team as instructed on the form.
